  • Clinical experience (full-time) of 2 years in urinalysis/body fluids, blood banking, microbiology, hematology, immunology, and chemistry. This experience must be obtained from an acceptable lab within the past 5 years.

As an international MLT ASCP-certified professional, you have to get a bachelor’s degree in related areas like chemistry or biological science and at least two years of medical lab science program from an accredited lab to transition your degree to MT (ASCP).

All international degrees must be equivalent to U.S. degrees and programs must be approved by the Ministry/governing regulatory organization.

If the country has no prevalent system for approval, then the institution must be authorized by an International Advisory Board allotted by the ASCP BOC.
