MLT ASCP Signature: Detailed Information
The following are all MLT ASCP signature details:
MLT ASCP Signature with no Expiration
There is no time limit of expiration for professionals who have achieved certificates prior to 1/1/2004 as U.S professionals and 1/1/2012 as international professionals.
Their certification is mentioned with the title “ASCP” if they are U.S., and the “ASCPi” designation is specific for international.
For instance:
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT ASCP)
- International Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT ASCPi)
MLT ASCP Signature for Time Limited Certification
The professionals who received the MLT ASCP certification as a time-limited certification (after 2004 as a U.S. lab professional/after 2012 as an international lab professional); valid for three years.
For certification maintenance, they need to participate in the CMP (Credential Maintenance Program).
Upon completion of this program, superscript “CM” is added with their MLT ASCP signature as
- Jones Smith, MLT(ASCP)CM or Jones Smith, MLT(ASCPi)CM
MLT ASCP Signature Based on Number of Certificates
One Certification Category
The certificate name is listed before the designation ASCP/ASCPi without comma or space, followed by the “CM” superscript if applicable.
Example: Jones Smith, MLT(ASCP)CM or Jones Smith, MLT(ASCPi)CM
Two Certification Categories
If you have one more certificate with MLT(ASCP), the name of the second credential is listed after the ASCP with no apace or comma, followed by the superscript (CM/iCM) if the certificate has passed through the CMP.
Example: Jones Smith, MLT(ASCP)CMBBCM or Jones Smith, MLT(ASCPi)CMBB)iCM
If your second certificate is MLS (highest volume certificate), it should always be written before (ASCP/ASCPi) and the name of your first certificate.
Example: Jones Smith, MLS(ASCP)CMMLTCM or Jones Smith, MLS(ASCPi)CMMLTiCM
Three or More Certification Categories
If you have three ASCP certifications (one MLT and two more (MLS and BB, etc.), additional categories are mentioned after the 2nd certificate.
It is separated by a comma but without a space.
