- Route I: Specialist/technologist/scientist ASCP certification and baccalaureate degree.
- Route II: NAACLS-authorized diagnostic molecular science program and bachelor’s degree
- Route III: Baccalaureate degree in chemistry/biological science from an accredited institution/baccalaureate degree with a combination of 45 quarter hours in chemistry and biology. Along with molecular biology lab clinical experience of one year/molecular biology lab industry, veterinary, or research experience.
- Route IV: Master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, allied health, microbiology, medical lab science, immunology, or another related field. Clinical experience of six months in a molecular biology laboratory/molecular biology laboratory 6 months of research, veterinary, or industry experience.
Eligibility Requirements for MB ASCPi (International Candidates)
- Route I: Technologist/specialist/scientist ASCPi certification and bachelor’s degree.
- Route II: Diagnostic molecular science program (internship, including courses in chemistry & biology) and a baccalaureate degree.
- Route III: Medical laboratory science program with training in microbiology, chemistry, blood banking, & hematology, and a bachelor’s degree.
- Route IV: Baccalaureate degree and molecular biology lab industry, veterinary, or research experience of one year/ one year of molecular biology clinical experience.
- Route V: Master’s degree in medical laboratory science, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, or other appropriately relevant field, and clinical experience of 6 months in molecular biology laboratory/ research, or veterinary, or industry experience of 6 months in molecular biology lab.
